DIRECTOR FAQ:  Sandy Morris - Chicago based Commercial Director.

What kind of projects am I right for?
Briefs that call for cinematic beauty, emotional depth, and a strong point of view. I’m drawn to stories that feel immersive, tactile, and human; work that lingers long after it’s seen.

What does my visual style look like?
Lush. Cinematic. Intentional.
My work leans toward luxury with a nostalgic edge.  Emotionally resonant images that feel elevated but never hollow. Think escapism with a soul.

Do I focus more on visuals or story?
Both but inseparably.
Every frame serves the story, and no detail is accidental. After over three decades in the entertainment industry, and 15 years as a professional photographer, my instincts are deeply visual and deeply narrative. I don’t just direct moments, I design them. Every frame is an image in service of the story.

What kind of tone do I bring to projects?
Organic and human.
I’m interested in how people feel inside the moment; not just how things look on the surface. My approach is intuitive, grounded, and deeply connected to the human experience.

Am I the right director for luxury brands?
Indeed.  Especially if you want luxury with warmth, memory, and emotion.
I elevate aesthetics without sacrificing authenticity. The result feels aspirational, not distant.

How does my personal life influence my work?
Completely.
I prefer the outdoors, exploration, and movement.  All of which shape how I see the world. My connection to nature and my Native American heritage inform how I work with light, space, and stillness.

What sets me apart on set?
Calm confidence and adventure, ready energy.
Whether I’m hanging off a cliff or working with celebrities, I bring the same curiosity and focus to every project.

Do I take on challenging productions?
I thrive on them.
I’ve been rock climbing for 25 years.   Physical problem solving and precision under pressure are second nature to me. Production challenges don’t scare me; they energize me.

What kinds of briefs am I not right for?
Projects that value speed over soul, spectacle over story, or trend over truth

Best one-line summary?
I direct cinematic escapism with emotional truth.
